About Us
Raizes Collective is an organization based in Santa Rosa which launched in 2015. Our mission is to empower and mobilize communities through the arts, culture, leadership development and community education. We offer healing and understanding through cultural and artistic outlets, as well as civic campaigns. The Collective came together to offer artists and teachers of color resources and support. We believe that all artists should have the resources to create art in the communities in which they live. Through Raizes, artists are offered support with space, programming, events, shows, and activities to influence political and social change in our community. Our Collective facilitates healing within our bilingual and bicultural communities. This year in 2023, we partnered with Community Action Partnership to offer workshops with a focus on social-emotional learning through the arts. ALMAS Libres members served as teaching artists in the youth classes of Padres Unidos.
Our vision is that our community is empowered to practice self-determination and liberation through cultural pride, art, a world with no borders, and community.
